Our Mission Statement

The mission of RUMC is to be a community where all persons may receive the grace and forgiveness of God and become disciples of Jesus Christ. We GATHER to worship God, to PROCLAIM the good news that Jesus is Lord and Savior, and to GROW as believers and disciples. We seek to SERVE one another and the world by reaching out in love and service as Christ’s hands.

Hand in Hand with Githens Middle School

RUMC and Githens Middle School across the street are excited to partner to meet the needs of children in our community!  Here's how you can help!

Summer Backpack and School Supply Drives

RUMC collects items that middle school students need and delivers them to Githens Middle School to be distributed to students. Over the summer, we are getting a head start on needs for the next school year by collecting:
Backpacks  that are appropriate for middle school students (larger size, no character backpacks, no wheels)
School Supply Items such as notebook paper, pens, pencils, folders, color pencils, markers, etc.
Look for a drop-off point in the narthex for these items, which will soon be going on sale at many retailers!
Here are a few things we have collected so far!

Boxtops for Education

Githens Middle School can receive cash through the Boxtops for Education program, and all RUMC members are encouraged to save the Boxtops for Education emblems found on a wide variety of products.  Place them in the collection box, and Githens will receive ten cents for each emblem we collect.
